Paperjet

Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2 July 2026

The short version. Paperjet is a printing app that runs entirely on your device. It has no user accounts and no servers of ours. The documents, photos, scans, contacts, and notes you print are processed locally and are never uploaded to us. We do not track you and we do not sell data.

1. Introduction

This Privacy Policy explains how the Paperjet mobile application (the "App") handles information. By using Paperjet you agree to the practices described here. Paperjet is provided as a self-contained iOS app that sends your content directly to AirPrint printers on your local network — it does not require you to create an account or hand your files to us.

2. Information We Do Not Collect

3. How Your Content Is Handled

Documents, photos, scans & notes

Everything you prepare for printing — imported documents (PDF, DOCX, XLSX, PPTX, RTF, TXT, EPUB, DJVU), photos, scanned pages, and typed notes — is opened, converted to a printable format, and previewed entirely on your device. When you print, the file is sent directly from your device to your chosen printer over your local Wi-Fi. These files are not sent to us and are not stored on any server we control.

Document scanning (Camera)

The Scan feature uses your device camera (via Apple's VisionKit) to capture pages and turn them into a PDF. Camera frames are processed locally to build the scan. Paperjet does not record video, and scans are not transmitted anywhere except to the printer you choose.

Contacts

If you print a contact card, Paperjet uses Apple's contact picker so you can select a contact. The selected contact's details are used only to lay out the printable card on your device and are then sent to your printer. Paperjet does not copy your address book to any server.

Printer discovery (Local Network)

To list nearby printers, Paperjet uses Bonjour to look for AirPrint devices (_ipp / _ipps) on your local Wi-Fi, and lets you add a printer manually by IP address. This discovery happens on your device and on your network only. Printer names and addresses are not sent to us.

Web page printing

If you enter a web address to print a page, Paperjet loads that page from the third-party website you specified, in order to render and paginate it for printing. Your interaction with that website is governed by that site's own privacy policy. Paperjet does not log the URLs you print.

4. Subscriptions & Payments

Paperjet offers an optional "Paperjet Pro" subscription. Purchases are handled by Apple through the App Store; Paperjet never sees your payment card or Apple ID.

To manage subscriptions, unlock Pro features, and restore purchases, Paperjet uses RevenueCat. RevenueCat receives a randomly generated, anonymous app-user identifier and your purchase/receipt information (which plan, whether a trial is active, renewal status). This is used solely to determine whether your Pro subscription is active. It is not linked to your real-world identity by us. See RevenueCat's privacy policy at revenuecat.com/privacy and Apple's at apple.com/legal/privacy.

5. Third-Party Services

Aside from the above, Paperjet does not integrate advertising, analytics, or social networks.

6. Data Storage & Retention

7. Device Permissions

Paperjet only requests permissions needed for a feature you use:

You can review or revoke these at any time in iOS Settings → Paperjet.

8. Data Security

Because your content stays on your device and is sent directly to your own printer, the surface for exposure is minimal. We follow platform security practices provided by iOS, and we keep the App updated to address potential vulnerabilities.

9. Children's Privacy

Paperjet is not directed at children and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone. It contains no advertising and no analytics. Payment and subscription handling follow Apple's and RevenueCat's respective policies.

10. Your Rights & Choices

11. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Changes take effect when the updated policy is posted here, and the "Last updated" date above will change. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
